We jumped on board a high speed Pendolino and headed for Krakow in the comfort of our first class seats. On arrival we stayed at the charming Hotel Indigo which was the perfect base to explore Krakow. We visited the St Mary’s Bascilica, Wawel Cathedral and Castle Grounds, took in some Jewish history, finishing the day with a Polish feast. We checked in to the Intercontinental Warsaw and were wowed with our upgrade to a room with a stunning view of the Palace of Technology and Science. For the rest of our time in Warsaw we spent a glorious Sunday in Lazienki Park with the sounds of Chopin in our ears whilst our eyes were overwhelmed with the pretty peacocks and palaces. In the evening we had some delicious street food, braved a series of fashion shoots at Poland’s highest pool before unwinding over drinks at the bar. We’d always wanted to visit Anne-So’s godfather in Orléans and with his condition deteriorating we thought we’d book ourselves a trip to see him before it was too late. As an added bonus Orléans is just over an hour from Paris on the train so we thought we’d treat ourselves to a couple of nights and see some some of the neighbourhoods we were less familiar with.
