Emotionally drained we arrived in Paris. The autumnal sunshine slowly cleared our heads allowing the city to weave its magic spell on us. On our first day we enjoyed delicious food and wandered the canals of the Marais. On our second and final day we were inspired by art both new and familiar. We’d always wanted to visit Anne-So’s godfather in Orléans and with his condition deteriorating we thought we’d book ourselves a trip to see him before it was too late. As an added bonus Orléans is just over an hour from Paris on the train so we thought we’d treat ourselves to a couple of nights and see some some of the neighbourhoods we were less familiar with.

It was our first full day in beautiful Budapest and we used the morning to get acclimatised. We started off our day at the glorious neoclassical Hungarian National Museum and followed it up with a guided tour of the stunning Great Synagogue. Our afternoon was all about food and drink, some cheap local fare for lunch and a glorious wine tasting to finish off a wonderful day!
